Karolinska Institutet places great value on a dynamic interaction between the academic and the commercial sectors – for mutual benefits and general improvement for the whole society.
To enable professional evaluation, development and commercialisation of interesting innovations in Life Science and Medical Technology an overall innovationsystem has been created – KI Innovation.
This unique system develops research ideas from both Swedish and other Nordic universities.
KIHAB owns 8 percent of the shares in the investment company Karolinska Development AB, which has a portfolio of around 40 companies in the Life Science sector.
The overall innovation system created by Karolinska Institutet takes projects all the way from an early idea to a commercial product on the market, through KIHAB´s subsidiary companies.
From idea to business-for public health and welfare. A large part of the innovation system at Karolinska Institutet is managed by Karolinska Institutet Holding AB – KIHAB.
Karolinska Institutet Holding AB and its subsidiaries are located at Nanna Svartz väg 6A on the KI Campus in Solna.
